Meditation encourages spiritual, emotional, and physical well-being. This 3 minute video does a great job of explaining how meditation has been scientifically proven to aid in one's overall health.

 

Meditation has been proven to DECREASE:

Stress & Anxiety

Negative Moods

Tension

Sadness

Anger

 

Meditation has been proven to INCREASE:

Memory

Empathy

Alpha Waves

 

Meditation also changes the size, shape, and density of your brain. Studies show that regular meditation results in more dense gray matter in the parts of the brain that facilitate learning, memory processing, and emotion regulation; whereas, the part of the brain that regulates stress, blood pressure, and fear indicates a reduction in grey matter density.

 

Cellular changes also occur when one meditates regularly. Chromosomes are actually altered by gaining protective proteins that prevent damage to our DNA and thus boost our resistance to multiple diseases.

 

Overall, meditation is scientifically proven to have numerous health benefits. So do yourself a favor, and work meditation into your daily routine!
